Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Logan
International Airport (BOS) and Middlesex Community College to Highlight
Associate Degree Program Collaboration

Achievement Ceremony to Recognize 12 Certificate Recipients

Chelsea, Mass. – On Tuesday, March 20th, Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) officials will join our partners at Middlesex
Community College at an achievement ceremony to recognize twelve
Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) who have successfully completed
several courses towards an Associate Degree through the agency’s
collaboration with the college.

The TSA Associate Degree program allows TSOs to advance their education
and improve their career advancement opportunities while, at the same
time, giving the workforce new skills, information and tools to help
improve customer service. This program is a jump start for TSOs who want
to pursue a degree in higher education, allowing them to take classes at
or near their home airport while concurrently working for TSA. Officers
receive a TSA Certificate of Achievement upon successful completion of
three courses.

Currently, more than 2,500 TSOs have enrolled in TSA’s Associate Degree
program across the country.  By Spring 2012, classes will be available
at more than 70 airports via partnerships with over 60 community
colleges in all 50 states, enabling nearly half of our officers the
opportunity to enroll.
