Turbulence Injures Passengers on Two Flights

The crew of Jet Blue flight 852, an Airbus 319, from San Juan to Boston experienced serious turbulence along the way allegedly causing 7 passengers to report they were injured.

The Jet Blue flight landed in Boston on runway 4R at 9:57 p.m. Sunday night and taxied to Terminal C at gate 36.

Massport Fire Rescue and Boston EMT’s responded to the flight and attended to the injured.

None of those reporting needing medical attention were transported to hospitals.

Two additional passengers reported injuries after the original 7 were examined and released.

The Jet Blue flight was carrying 130 passengers and 5 crew.

Luftansa flight 429, an Airbus 340, heading from Charlotte to Munich, was diverted to Logan and reported a number of passengers possibly injured due to turbulence and landed in Boston at 11:35 p.m. Sunday night.

There were 245 passengers and 18 crew.

Three passengers were transported to the hospital.

Eight others were treated at the scene but refused to be taken to the hospital.
