Passenger Numbers Climb

With a new June passenger record already set and with numbers growing, Logan Airport appears ready to break its 2007 passenger number record of 28.1 million.

With two major holidays coming up – Thanksgiving and Christmas – there is the real possibility the old record will be shattered.

July, 2011 marked the 25th consecutive month of passenger growth.

July numbers were up 7.2% over the same period last year.

Total numbers for the year to date are up 7.6%.

International passenger increased 11.2% on a monthly basis over last years.

The only caveat in all of this for August figures is that the airport closed down almost entirely for Hurricane Irene, effectively cancelling out about two days worth of business.
